With soaring gas prices leading to record profits for gas companies and the economy going down the crapper, I would really like to know why we are so concerned with non-issues relating to the campaign (if you have no idea what I am talking about, look at the first 45 mins of the last debate). The three presidential hopefuls are going to appear on WWE tonight.
I know each one of the hopefuls want to come across as the average Joe, but WWE?
If you are taking part in the voting process tomorrow, I really urge you to read the three articles in the City Paper.
Yes, I am an Obama supporter, that goes without question. Yes I am happy they endorsed Obama. If you read the articles you see how the way the campaigns are ran can easily reflect how the 4 – 8 years that person spends in the White House will go. You can see that Hilary is running off of name alone and that the Obama camp is prepared. If you watched the important part of the debate after Obama was pretty much attacked (I guess due to the scrutiny the press received for going “easy” on the black guy), you see Obama is shaken yet he is saying the right things. All Hilary did was forcefully disagree with him and not present the alternative plan for the issue at hand. That is a prime example of how the method of the message was more important than the message itself.
So I ask you, have we really become a society where the visual delivery and the tone is more important than what information comes out?
I just OD’ed on pop culture
