The return of television…but do we really care?

we may have already lost signal

Britney makes and appearance on TV and drives the ratings for that show through the roof

After all of the waiting, the striking and the cliff hangers…it looks like we just don’t care about the return of scripted TV. The reality show business is in high demand now, so where does that leave our happy (yet uncertain) writers? The strike may have hurt more than it helped. In the business world we know that companies quickly work their way around employees that speak up due to unfair conditions or treatment. Although the writers now receive a bigger piece of the pie, is it worth it if the pie has gone bad? Has scripted television suffered the same fate as major league baseball after it’s strike?
This is the final season of “Scrubs” and it is unclear as to how it will play out. Although the writers worked non-stop when the strike was a whisper in the wind in order to prepare the final season properly, the strike haulted production for months. Now the producers have to decide on either doing a rush job to get all of the episodes shot in order for the final episodes to air and run the risk of putting out a completed project that is not up to their standards, or run on the normal shooting schedule and be forced to show the final episodes via DVD release.
