Here it is, after Christmas and you finally have your PS3. Now what?
I know the PS3 is kind of expensive. I also know the games are expensive as well. Here are a few tips to help your PS3 become your friend and not just collecting dust.
Step 1- Get HDMi cables
Trust me on this ok? I had my PS3 hooked up to my TV using the regular cables. When my brother brought over the HDMi cables I never went back.
Step 2- Sign up for a playstation account online
I will assume you have an internet connection (otherwise you would not have the ability to read this post), sign up for the network and link your playstation to it.
Step 3- Purchase a time consuming game you will obsess over.
For me it was “Rock band”
Others finally jumped on the bandwagon…
Step 4- Link your computer to your PS3
With sites you can download videos and movies from, who needs cable? You can link your PS3 to your computer using Windows Media Player
Now, if you are unlucky like I am and this does not work….here are a couple of options
Winamp a free media player you can customize to do just about anything (except view and edit pictures)

You can also share your media to other computers online using this.
TVersity Another media player with connections to channels such as CBS (you can catch up on the “Young and the Restless” using this!)
Step 5- Download “PlayOn” to your computer
You can connect to your Netflix account, Hulu, Youtube and other channels from this program

this program has a free 14 day trial, if you like it (which you will) yoou can buy a license for a one time fee of $30.
Who needs cable now?
Look at you, all high-tech n'shnizz.
You should have added that a friend's PS3 account can be installed on up to 5 PS3 systems. Thus, you can have free access to anything that account has paid to download for free on your account.
So DLC (Download Content) can be shared. Why pay for something, like new Rock Band tracks, if your friend already did? Chances are, people don't have 5 PS3s they know of or have access to, and so sharing with you shouldn't be a problem.
hahaha, thats why no one has heard from me!

Hey, I don't wanna piss Sony off!
I should have mentioned there is no fee for the playstation network!
