I finally had the chance to see the “Star Trek” reboot. I am generally not a fan of reboots, but I must say that this attempt was successful in swaying my opinion of them. Continue reading for my review.
A chronicle of the early days of James T. Kirk and his fellow USS Enterprise crew members.
From IMDb
This is not a simple retelling of the origin of Captain Kirk, this is a new beginning for the Star Trek franchise.
This movie deals with time travel, revenge, and their consequences. The movie begins with Jame’s T Kirk’s birth. Moments after his mother delivered James, he lost his father, dramatically altering the Kirk we know and love…but don’t worry, he still sleeps with hot alien chicks when he grows up.
This movie expedites the advancement of Kirk and Spock’s careers, as well as a few other characters. The casting was excellent (minus the odd placement of Tyler Perry, don’t worry he is not in it long).
This movie had the right balance of humor, action, and Trek lore. The classic sayings coined by the characters made their way into the film, and that was done very tastefully.
If I talk about the film anymore, I will give away a lot of the plot…and I do not want to do that to you.
I will just go ahead and rate the film..
Rating= 6 out of 6
and if you don’t take my word for it, watch this clip…

I saw the movie as well and while I'm not a “Trekkie” or a sci-fi fan, the movie did hold my interest.
I did have issues with Tyler Perry being placed in the movie, it was kind of odd.
It did seem out of place…well I guess it is good for him…shrug.
