I will be one of the first to say, what Vick did showed a lack of judgment and respect for dogs.
I will also say he is a great athlete and welcome him to Philadelphia with open arms…and at least he did not kill a human like some athlete that will go without naming names…

or beat up his women
The same way slavery dehumanized black people then lead to segregation and now leaves us with good ole racism and the black tax, the human rights era left generations after it not viewing all dogs as poor defenseless animals…
Now…on with the video…
Quiet honestly, I would have refrained from having Vick give speeches. Athletes are praised for their physical ability, not their oratorical abilities.
I do not believe all of this hype will help curb the dog fighting “epidemic”. Everyone chipping in to make animals a priority would help.
Start by taking off your leather shoes….

The whole problem I see with the Humane Society is that they feel like Michael Vick owes them for the rest of his life. The dude did the crime, served his time and im sure he's on some sort of probation. He's already subject to scrutiny from the masses but to think that his celebrity (or whatever you want to call it) will stop something as deep rooted as dog fighting is bs. Its just another way to put that man in anothers pocket.
PS- Dont forget about Ben Roethlisbergers' sexual assault case that has recently been swept under the rug..Crazy isnt? *smdh*
I agree, dog fighting is not just a hobby for some people; it is actually a
way of life! You saw the interview and how Vick clearly stated he grew up in
an area where a large portion of his neighbors did it. What is moral is
subjective.
By that rationale, women and men are not defenseless either. I then encourage hitting women, since they can at least defend themselves.
